Cardiac Arrhythmia is one of the leading causes of death in the world. In Europe, the UK and USA, Sudden Cardiac Arrest is the number one killer.
Arrhythmias (heart rhythm disorders) are often misunderstood and under-diagnosed yet are often very simple to treat.
Organizations across the globe will join forces on this day to highlight World Heart Rhythm Awareness - promoting:
· Healthcare professionals to be more aware of signs and symptoms of heart rhythm conditions, from unexpected loss of consciousness (TLOC) to Sudden Cardiac Death (SCD)
· Appropriate and speedy referral to specialists
· Heart rhythm awareness programmes for schools
· Chain of survival education
· Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) in public places and communities
· An improved quality of life for those living with cardiac arrhythmia
Together we can save lives and improve the quality of life of those living with Cardiac Arrhythmia
World Awareness Day is coordinated by Arrhythmia Alliance, The Heart Rhythm Charity
