How can I get involved?

There are many ways in which you can get involved and help raise awareness of heart rhythm disorders and sudden cardiac death during AAAW 2008!

Are You Holding a Display or Event During Awareness Week?
Why not tell the press!

Click here to download a special volunteers’ news release for you to use as a supporter of this year’s Awareness Week!

If you are holding a display or event to help support this year’s Arrhythmia Awareness Week why not let your local newspaper know all about your good work. Click on the Volunteers’ news release and let everyone know what you’re doing!

HOLD AN AWARENESS DISPLAY OR EVENT

Order an awareness pack from Arrhythmia Alliance and put up a display in your local hospital, GP surgery or a public place!
Or why not hold an event during the week? Order materials and raise awareness at the same time!

In 2007 over 260 events were held by medical professionals, patients and other individual supporters throughout the UK,
Help us to make 2008 a record year – order your materials here and don’t forget to take photographs!

A-A can advertise your events on the AAAW calendar.
Email campaigns@heartrhythmcharity.org.uk to submit details.

‘ADOPT A SURGERY’

We need to continue to target primary care practitioners so that the symptoms of heart rhythm disorders (loss of consciousness, dizziness, palpitations, shortness of breath and sudden death) are detected, and so that individuals receive a rapid diagnosis, access to specialist arrhythmia services and effective treatment and support.

Order our ‘GP awareness materials’ and take them to your local GP surgery/surgeries or outpatients department. Remember to tell us which surgeries you ‘adopted’!

WRITE TO YOUR LOCAL MP

The lobby in England for Chapter 8 on Arrhythmias and Sudden Cardiac Death started five years ago – the Chapter was published in 2005 – but what is happening now? Are the Quality Requirements being implemented? Have you received an accurate diagnosis? Have you accessed specialist arrhythmia services? Are you getting effective treatment and support?

MPs listen to the voter – YOU! Download our country-specific template letters and send them to your local MP. Remember to forward on any responses you may have to Arrhythmia Alliance, PO BOX 3697 Stratford Upon Avon Warwickshire CV37 8YL
